COX HIGH SPEED INTERNET INCREASES SPEEDS FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW. COX CONTINUES TO OFFER THE FASTEST SPEEDS IN SAN DIEGO
(SAN DIEGO) July 18, 2008 - We’ve all heard the hype about who has the fastest Internet speeds, and in San Diego, the leader continues to be Cox Communications. Cox San Diego has pumped up its High Speed Internet speeds on its Preferred tier to 9Mbps down/768kbps up. The Premier tier will now accelerate up to 15Mpbs down/1.5Mbps up. This marks the fifth year in a row that Cox San Diego High Speed Internet customers will experience a speed increase.
In addition, Cox is adding its free PowerBoost to uploads. PowerBoost is the same technology that was added for downloads last year that gives customers an automatic burst of speed when they need it most, especially when downloading large files such as music, movies and pictures. PowerBoost is free for all Preferred and Premier Cox High Speed Internet customers.
With the combination of Cox High Speed Internet Preferred tier and PowerBoost technology, consumers can trade pictures, send a vacation video, update a PC and download a song from Cox Rhapsody in five minutes, versus the 17 minutes it would take with the typical 1.5Mbps DSL package.
“Cox High Speed Internet allows customers to spend less time waiting and more time doing what they want to do online,” said Colette Jelineo, Vice President of Marketing for Cox Communications San Diego.”
