Protecting Yourself
Read
carefully when filling out online forms and submitting any
personal information. Don't give a Web-site operator your email
address unless they offer the option of declining to receive email.
Use multiple email addresses. When using an unfamiliar Web site or
posting to a newsgroup, establish an email address for that specific
purpose. This can make it easy to shut off any address that is
attracting spam. Your Cox.net account comes with seven email
addresses to make this easy.
