Frequently Asked Questions
What is On Demand?
On Demand is an exciting new way to access movies and other video
programming from the comfort of your home. With On Demand service, you can use
your Cox Digital Cable remote control to select from hundreds of hit movies and
other programming - controlling your selection with full VCR-like functionality.
This means that you can start the film whenever you like, pause, rewind,
fast-forward and view repeatedly within your 24-hour rental period. The best
part is you never have to leave the comfort of your home and you also don't have
the worry over late return fees.
What is the difference between On Demand and Cox's iN
DEMAND Pay-Per-View?
On Demand offers you more flexibility than
traditional iN DEMAND/Pay-Per-View. With Pay-Per-View you select among features
with preset start times and do not have the ability to stop, pause or otherwise
control the play of the program. On Demand provides virtually the same
experience as renting a videotape or DVD, without the hassle of going to the
video store, and with no worries over late return fees. With On Demand, Cox is
also able to offer you a larger library of films and other programming.
Do I need to purchase or lease any new equipment
to access On Demand from Cox?
You already have everything you need with your
Cox Digital Cable receiver! With no equipment to buy and no monthly service fee,

Some premium cable programmers, including HBO, Cinemax and
Starz offer selections from their programming for On Demand viewing. To utilize
HBO, Cinemax or Starz On Demand, all you have to do is subscribe to the Digital
HBO, Cinemax or Starz packages. As with films and other programming available
with On Demand, HBO, Cinemax and Starz On Demand will provide you with VCR-like
control while you view your selection.

On Demand?
Cox Digital Cable customers who also subscribe to
HBO, Starz and/or Cinemax can access HBO On Demand, Starz On Demand and/or
Cinemax On Demand at no additional charge.
Can I get On Demand service from a satellite provider?
No, the specific technology that makes On Demand possible isn't compatible with
satellite technology. Some satellite video providers offer services they like to
call "on demand," but they generally don't deliver the full range of choice and
control available through Cox's On Demand service.
How often does the library of On Demand titles change?
New titles appear every week.
Why are some movies free on On Demand?
In order to make our customers comfortable with the
new technology and give them a chance to experience On Demand service, Cox and
iN DEMAND have provided a menu of free programming. The free movies allow you to
experience on-demand functionality risk-free. We believe that you will enjoy the
experience of viewing movies on-demand.
Why aren’t there more movies with On Demand?
Cox and iN DEMAND are currently working with the
major and independent movie studios to make more content available. As On Demand
is an entirely new distribution channel it has taken a little time to get all of
the licensing deals in place.
Why aren’t there more recent titles available
with On Demand?
Cox and iN DEMAND can only provide movies that have
been licensed for distribution via On Demand. The movie studios adhere to a
distribution schedule that includes guidelines for theatrical release, video
store release, in-home pay-per-view, and now On Demand. As on-demand viewing of
movies becomes more popular, we anticipate that the studios may make their
movies available earlier.
What’s the difference between Premium On Demand
and On Demand?
Subscribers to premium networks, like HBO On
Demand, do not need to pay for individual titles. With HBO On Demand, for
example, you may select from many different episodes of an HBO original series like "Sex and the City" and watch them at a time that is convenient for you. On Demand refers
to the service Cox provides at no additional charge each month to Cox Digital
Cable customers. Customers are charged only for the selections they chose to
view.
How often are the Premium On Demand programs changed?
Generally, new Premium On Demand program selections are added every
Monday. Most programs are available for viewing for one month.
What's on a premium channel that's not on Premium On Demand?
A sampling of almost everything that's on the premium channel will be
available through Premium On Demand, including series, specials and hit movies. And,
any given month, there's lots of programming on Premium On Demand that's not on the
"regular" premium channel - such as past seasons of "The Sopranos" and other hit original
series from HBO.
