Federal and State laws require excavators to notify the appropriate utilities companies before excavating by calling "DIG SAFE" in RI and "Call Before You Dig" in CT in your area. The term "excavating" for this purpose should include but not limited to: digging, trenching, grading, tunneling, augering, boring, drilling, pile driving, plowing-in or pulling in pipe, cable, wire, conduit or other substructure; backfilling; demolition; and blasting, except blasting in a quarry.

4. General Requirements for Service
When to request service
Request for service should be made as far in advance as possible to assure time for surveying, licensing, designing, ordering of materials and construction. Depending on the size of the project, the materials necessary to complete the same may take some considerable time. A plot map, city approved site plan or a U.R.D. (underground residential distribution) from the local electric company is necessary.
How to request
A breakdown of our serviceable areas and telephone numbers to contact us is available in this document under "Service Coordinators"
Availability of service
